SLVoices – Your Voice & Guide in the San Luis Valley


Welcome! Our mission is to raise awareness and encourage involvement throughout the San Luis Valley region of south-central Colorado. We offer the most comprehensive, searchable calendar of events for this entire 8,000+ square mile area. Submit your event or meeting for a free listing. We produce a local podcast called “San Luis Valley Voices,” and videos as well, telling the stories behind businesses, events and organizations of interest to local residents and visitors alike. We’re even listed by the Colorado Department of Tourism for what we do. From Villa Grove to Antonito, from San Luis to Creede and everything in-between, we are Your Voice and Guide in the San Luis Valley.


SLVoices continues to grow at an amazing rate. As of January 2024, we have had nearly 1.6-Million visitors and about 3.4-Million page views on this website. There are over 3,700 active followers on our Facebook group, and we’ve have had over 300-Thousand listens to our podcasts.

The 34th Annual Crestone Energy Fair. The Crestone Energy Fair is so much more than just sustainable energy practices. It’s evolved over the years to encompass health & wellness, alternative building practices, self sufficiency, workshops, demonstrations, speaker panels, great music and even guided home tours. This free to the public event is the longest running sustainable energy fair in the country and takes place on Saturday & Sunday, September 16th & 17th. Getting To Know The LOR Foundation. By now you’ve probably heard of the LOR Foundation but do you know that they’re working on multiple projects in Monte Vista? Well they are! 40th Annual Monte Vista Crane Festival. It’s time for the 40th annual Monte Vista Crane Festival. SLVoices got together with Co-Coordinator Deb Callahan and Artist Amanda Charlton about this year’s event. We talked about what’s planned, the world premier of their new video, the craft fair, the Swoop of the Cranes, their special guest speakers, and of course, the Sandhill Cranes.



The Swoop Of The Cranes is a community art and city beautification project, put on each year by the Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce. SLVoices produced a mini-documentary video highlighting the Swoop of the Cranes art project.
